Answers to most frequently asked questions:
1. Why should we go to a marriage encounter weekend? Our marriage is okay.
Marriage Encounter is for good marriages, not perfect ones. for couples to grow closer and experience a deeper and more intimate relationship. Every relationship needs nurturing. Marriage Encounter is NOT for troubled marriages. That program is called Retrouvaille, and is also available in Hawaii. Why settle for an okay marriage when it can be superb!
2. Do we have to talk about our life in front of other people?
It is not group therapy. You do not share your lives with others on the weekend, only between husband and wife. It is a very private experience for married couples, that is why it is held at a retreat center or a hotel.
3. How much does it cost?
There is a nonrefundable registration fee of $50.00. Food and lodging are provided on the weekend, and the couples are asked to make a voluntary donation.
4. How long does it take?
The weekend begins at 7 pm Friday night and ends at 5pm on Sunday. Couples are required to stay for the whole time to benefit from the weekend experience.
5. What happens after the weekend?
The couples if they wish, can get to know and become part of a community of married couples who have experienced the weekend and believe in the same family values.
